Creating a Poster – Step-by-Step Instructions🇵🇱

Project aim

Your task is to prepare a poster entitled “Take Care of the Forest” (or any topic that concerns you), containing materials collected and developed by yourselves.

The poster should draw attention to the problem of littering in forests and encourage others to take care of nature. (After consulting your teacher, the topic may also be different.)


Task 1. Choosing the topic and message of the poster

  1. Think about what should be included on the poster.
  2. Decide what kind of message it should convey:
    • informative (e.g. “What harms the forest?”),
    • encouraging action (e.g. “Don’t litter!”, “Take your rubbish with you!”),
    • or combining both of these elements.
  3. Create short and clear slogans (preferably 2–5).

Task 2. Developing the graphic concept

  1. Choose the poster format:
    • a single A4 sheet,
    • or a larger format (e.g. four A4 sheets joined together).
  2. Plan the layout of the elements:
    • the title,
    • photos,
    • slogans and short pieces of information.
  3. Decide on the appearance of the poster:
    • colours,
    • types and sizes of fonts,
    • whether you will create a collage or a photo montage.
  4. Prepare an initial design on paper (a sketch).

Remember to use other people’s materials in accordance with the law. Create the slogans for your poster on your own.

Task 4. Preparing photos and texts

  1. Select photos that best match the topic.
  2. Improve their quality (brightness, contrast, cropping).
  3. Refine the slogans and short descriptions.
  4. Ask another person to check the correctness of the texts.

Task 5. Placing materials on the poster

  1. Arrange the prepared photos and slogans according to the design.
  2. Make sure the poster is clear and aesthetically pleasing.
  3. Avoid using too much text.

Task 6. Final editing of the poster

  1. Check whether the poster matches the original design.
  2. Check language correctness.
  3. If necessary, adjust the placement of photos and texts.

Task 7. Save your work as a PDF file.
